Medical tubing extrusion requires precise control of temperature, screw speed and material feeding in order to achieve stable and repeatable production conditions. This is the concept behind the Tecno System MED Series, a range of extruders specifically developed for medical tubing and high-precision micro-extrusion applications.

The series starts from compact 12 mm screw diameter extruders, designed for demanding micro-tubing applications, and includes different machine sizes according to the required output, polymer and final product. Among these configurations, the TM 30 MED, equipped with a 30 mm screw, combines compact dimensions with the process-control features required by the medical industry.

  • PID multi-zone temperature control. The TM 30 MED features PID multi-zone temperature control, allowing the barrel temperature profile to be accurately adjusted according to the polymer being processed. Precise thermal management helps maintain stable melt conditions and contributes to consistent extrusion performance throughout the production cycle.ù
  • Temperature-controlled cooled feed throat. The feed section is equipped with a temperature-controlled cooled feed throat. By limiting unwanted heat transfer towards the feeding area, this system helps maintain regular material feeding and improves overall process stability.
  • Designed for stable and repeatable extrusion. The combination of precise screw speed control, accurate thermal regulation and controlled material feeding provides the basis for a stable and repeatable extrusion process. This is particularly important for medical tubing and micro-extrusion applications, where small variations in process conditions can have a significant effect on final product dimensions.
  • Compact design for medical extrusion lines. Each extrusion system is configured according to the specific material, tube dimensions, required output and final application.

From micro-tubing to larger medical tubing. There is no single extruder configuration suitable for every medical application. For this reason, the Tecno System MED Series includes different extruder sizes, allowing each project to be developed around its real production requirements.
